The onion rings lacked flavor, even though the batter was quite spicy. The breading was heavy and bland. The dip was equally disappointing as it did not enhance the flavor of the onion rings at all. It tasted like normal blue cheese dressing. Neither are recipes I will be repeating.

The onion rings tasted ok. The batter is too much and to heavy for the onions. I had to fry them in batches and I kept in the oven at 250 to keep warm and crispy.

Makes alot of batter. Definately use big onin chuncks. Was not fond of it really, tempura batter. I like the batter on onion comparable to Bloomin Onion and this was not close to that. Friends liked it but I think I can do better. Really messy too.

There are some foods I have to try each time I visit a new restaurant and onion rings is one of them. This is one of the better recipes I?ve found. There are just a few small problems with it. The ratio of seasoning to flower is week. Doubling the seasoning is a good start but you might want even more. Being someone who has to tweak recipes I substituted buttermilk for the plain milk and added 1/8 tea. baking powder to balance the acid and found it hade a much richer flavor. Give it a try!
