This macaroni is perfect. Don't even look at any other recipes. Per the advice of other cooks, I cut down on the onion a bit. This mac does have a little kick, but don't worry about it being too spicy for any of your guests. And instead of the croutons, I used buttered breadcrumbs and some crumbled bacon for a topping. Seriously, go ahead and make double. You're gonna need it.

I saw this on TV and it looked so good, I went grocery shopping that day, and made it the next. I've made it several times since then (and added crispy bacon, and it truly is the BEST mac and cheese I've ever eaten. And it's easy! I highly, highly recommend this recipe to everyone.

I really like this recipe it was very flavorful and a nice twist on a classic. The only problem i had with it would be the onions. I am impartial to onions but felt that it had a bit too much in this recipe. The croutons was a nice little touch. I will definitely make this again !

Best macaroni and cheese I ever ate, and easy to make -- Thick and creamy, plenty of cheesy goodness. The croutons on top were a very good idea. I never thought I would like "spicy" mac and cheese, the warmth of the pepper jack and cayenne were a wonderful surprise. Actually next time I think I want just a little more warmth.
1/4 grated onion was a tad too much though -- I was very aware of the onion first two or three bites, and then it receded into the background. I will make again and measure 1/4 cup minus one tablespoonful.

I made this recipe for 2 of my girlfriends, and we all LOVED it! My daughter ate some leftovers the next day, and LOVED IT!!! I didn't have sour cream, and used Rondele spread in it's place... I will definitely be making this again! Thanks, Sunny!!!!
