I absolutely loved this mac and cheese recipe, I will never go back to my old recipe again! If you're worried you won't like it because of the word "spicy", don't be- it's really more of a kick of heat at the very end of a bite than it really is spicy. I'm not a big fan of "spicy" food anyways, but this recipe has the kick I was missing in my mac and cheese. I love a really creamy mac and cheese, so I decided to make a cheese sauce with all the same ingredients, rather than tossing the pasta in. It turned out great! I didn't have any cayenne pepper so I substituted chili powder and added about 1/4 cup of Franks red hot. The taste of this dish can't be beat! If you are looking for something more in your mac and cheese, this is the way to do it! Great recipe Sunny!

This is an excellent mac and cheese recipe. I've used it for holidays and kids parties. I use all the cheeses recommended in the recipe, except I use regular monterey jack when serving for children. I also use Peppridge Farm stuffing (in blue bag for a topping. It saves a little time. Most importantly this dish is wonderful reheated for those days when Im throwing together a quick easy meal. EXCELLENT recipe and very easy!!

This recipe is a keeper! I've made several different kinds of mac & cheeses before but this is the best recipe so far. I was little nervous using all that cream but it was worth it. My husband and I do not like spicey foods so I used gouda and a good Jarlsburg cheese in place of the pepper jack. And I used Penko for the topping and mixed it with extra cheese. So very tasty and rich but not too rich.
This is an excellent recipe and can't wait to entertain with it.

I used half as much pepper jack as some else suggested. This was amazing!

I really like Sunny Anderson and all she represents but this recipe was a miss for my family. The only change I made was changing out the heavy cream and half and half for half and half and milk; trying to reduce calories. Not impressed with the consistency of the final product and not very flavorful. I'll go back to my macaroni augraten from the taste of home recipe book.

This recipe is definitely a keeper! I have been on an unending quest for the "perfect" mac 'n cheese and Sunny has definitely perfected this dish. I prepared it for Thanksgiving and received rave reviews from everyone. I did not find the dish spicy, but the rich, creamy, cheesy, ooey-gooeyness was exactly what I was after. This will definitely be my go-to mac 'n cheese recipe. Thank you sooooooooooo much, Sunny.

For me this was very, very cheesy, and the pepper Jack cheese was extremely spicy....I think next time I would use more cheddar and less of the other cheeses, just my preference!

This is by far my favorite mac n' cheese recipes on food network. I have tried for years to find one that gets rave reviews from friends and family and this is the only one that everyone loves. I really enjoy spicy foods so i found habenero jack cheese and it was near perfect. I do prefer just panko and herb topping instead of the croutons because I found they get a bit soggy when re-heated for leftovers, not that you will have any leftovers for this dish!!
