Love Marcela...saw her prepare "Mexican Man Food" -- we need to see pictures of the dish...she served it in the lava bowl. Add pictures to recipes!

We all have certain innate knowledge of whether a particular recipe would be to our liking or not. We also know if our likes or dislikes of a recipe are strong enough to voice an opinion on it, prior to trying it. Also, sometimes we either have a question or wish to alert FN, the Chef and those who would like to try the recipe of a problem. In all these cases, I feel, it is fine to voice whatever we wish as long as keep away from insults. I really don?t feel that Doris was insulting anyone. Instead, I feel that she was alerting FN, the Chef and others who would like to try this, to be aware of a particular problem. I really get upset when someone is deliberately trying to sabotage a chef. I do feel, however, that she was not fair with her rating and she skewed it way off. I would have felt happier if in situations like this, where someone has not yet tried something and is unsure of whether (she is going to like the recipe, to at least assign 3 stars if the need for the question/alert is too strong to be postponed. With 3 stars, at least we have an average, and not an awful, based on the message of the reviewer. That said I feel she had a valid point. I also feel that any poisoning danger should be covered by every single chef and/or FN. It is a cooking channel, and food related dangers should be addressed every time one exists, if we wish to avoid being sued by some opportunist who happens to get sick after trying the recipe. If someone can sue McDonalds and win, for burning themselves by the heat of a cup of coffee, anything is possible in this great land of ours. I love this recipe, but have to make a slight change, as I am not keen on Oregano.

Soooo sick of people skewing the recipe rating by making unnecessary comments when they havent even made the recipe. First of of all, I would find it incredibly annoying to have every host on every show that ever cooked with chicken harp on about the dangers of salmonella. Second of all, do we REALLY need to be taught this by someone on TV? Darwin anyone?
And third of all, she is cooking the freakin chicken so lets just assume the heat from the grill is killing the salmonella as she hovers the tongs over the grill and worry about other things in life.
This is a great recipe and I am happy to get some direction on the right spice combination to use for something I have always enjoyed in restaurants. Great new show! Great recipes, and Marcela is a perfect host, very comfortable on camera and interesting to watch!

Just saw this on t.v. Came to get the recipe to run to the grocery store.
The printed recipe says to use 1/4 white onion. On the t.v. show, Marcella used a whole onion cut into quarters.
Love this show, can't wait to get started.

I haven't made this recipe, but I did want to make a comment. I watched Marcela when she put the flank steak, shrimp and chicken on the grill. She put the chicken on last. I don't know if she used the same tongs that she turned the chicken with, but if she did, she didn't comment about using the same tongs on the steak and shrimp after they had touched the chicken. Don't you run the risk of salmonella poisoining when you do this?
