nice flavor, just like the sweet potato fries from an earlier episode - BUT- no matter what i tried they are soggy *not* crisp. i tried varying the temp, i tried putting them on a rack to bake instead of the parchment paper the recipe had, and varying the time only got me burned chips that set off the fire alarm.

if there is a secret here, i sure don't know it. Did ANYONE not affiliated with this program have crisp chips?

I bake in a convection oven, and still 10 minutes wasn't enough time to get a crisp chip. I went as thin of a slice as possible using a mandolin slicer, used half as much oil, and they were still damp at the 10 minute mark. I turned them, and then put them back in the oven for 1 minute increments until I got a good crisp. Total--about 20 minutes. Second batch, I put these on foil only, not on a cooking sheet. That helped some. I second and third using half--maybe even just a third--of the cayenne pepper. I put the salt and pepper on after I laid them out on the foil... easier to control the amount I liked.

Guys, these were great! I did read the reviews, cut the cayenne in half and they were perfect. I love spicy, but really you just don't need that much. A great side to my lean burgers!

None of the other reviewers mentioned how spicy these chips were, but I found them almost inedible due to the burning sensation they left on my tongue. 1 tsp of cayenne is way too much in my opinion. If anything, I would use 1/2 tsp. Also, I used aluminum foil instead of parchment paper and it seemed to work fine.

Delicious! Love the spice! I cut thinner than 1/4" on a mandolin, and had to bake longer than 10 minutes to get crispy just around the edges, but they were a hit. I will make them again.

Made these twice. First cutting it by hand and then using a mandolin. Neither time did these chips come out crispy. Spicy and tasty but not crispy
