Had some friends over for dinner 2 nights ago, whipped this dish up to complement some grilled sausage and a garden salad. This was my first time making this dish and everyone was raving! I of course took all the credit =] I felt obligated to comment since I didn't actually create this recipe. Please try this you will not be disappointed.

Thanks FN for this great dish. Made it tonight with some grilled sausage and my family loved it. My son who just came home from college for Christmas break, requested that I make it several times more before he goes back to school.
    Loved it!

this recipe idea is great, and with a few adjustments, it tastes delicious!! The reason I gave it 4 stars was the fact that it needed a lot more chicken broth, than the recipe called for and needed to cook for more than 5 minutes, but as it cooked I continued to add chicken stock and stir. Also, I didnt strain the spinach, so that liquid also helped. I added chopped fresh tomato at the end, and also some lemon zest, and its yummy! I think feta would be a nice touch too!

This recipe probably wasn't tested before publishing. I had to double the amount of liquid and it was still sticky. Finally had to toss out the entire contents and start over. Better to follow the directions on the package and add your own seasonings.

We had a party last weekend and I made this recipe. Thank you so much for putting it on here. I have already had to give the recipe to several of my neighbors.

The best part is my 1st grader loved it and he wants to have, and I quote "the rice with the green decorations again".
I am thrilled to have him eating so well.

Thanks Food Network for posting this recipe. Hope to see more from this chef.

I entertained several colleges from the university last evening and served this dish. Needless to say, your recipe monopolized a large part of our dinner conversation. Huge success, everyone loved it!

    Thanks

I used Barilla Orzo. I always use the highest quality ingredients and I know my way around the kitchen. This recipe is just plain bland. It's a shame, too, because it has good texture and it's easy. After tasting it, we tried to punch it up with more pepper, more lemon juice - that didn't work. I added a diced roma tomato to mine and it helped a little. If you like bland food, this is for you. You can trust the review that said there wasn't enough chicken broth to cook the orzo - that's exactly right; I had to add 1/2 cup more.

The only reason this has 4 stars is because you have people on here who give 5 star ratings without ever having made the recipe. Anyone else notice that?

I ALWAYS LOOK AT THE REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING A DISH I SEE ON FOOD NETWORK. I WAS SO SURPISED TO SEE 5 STARS, LOVED IT AND A SINGLE STAR OR TWO, DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. I THINK THAT IS VERY ODD. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN A DISH ON FN THAT GOT 5 STARS AND THEN A SINGLE STAR. I WILL TRY THIS DISH BECAUSE WE LOVE ORZO. I WILL USE THE BARILLA, WHICH I USE ANYWAY AND KEEP AN EYE ON THE AMOUNT OF CHIICKEN STOCK. I WILL LET YOU KNOW. BY THE WAY, I SOMETIMES THINK, THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE IT IN FOR SOME OF THE CHEFS ON FN!. I AGREE THAT THE GIRL WITH SANDRA, ON THIS SHOW, WAS ADORABLE.

I've made this several times and each time, it's even better. It's easy to freeze and heat up later. I tried a similar recipe from another site and that was pasty and bland. This one is a winner and a favorite!!
