I didn't make the meat marinade, but I did enjoy the horseradish-chive sauce. I added a little dijon mustard for a little more tang. Also added fresh chives on top.

This was a disaster. I don't know how people can rate this with more than one star. The person who said the proportions of the marinade are wrong, is correct. There is way too much red wine vinegar. It is the only ingredient you can taste. I really thought the cognac, rosemary, and shallot flavors would come through, but the vinegar overpowers. It was unanimous. All four adults at my table said "way too much vinegar". The horseradish sauce was mediocre at best. This was a very disappointing recipe.

I loved this marinade. I decided to forego the horseradish sauce and placed the remaining maridade on the stove and reduced it by 2/3. Just before serving, i thickend the reduction with two tbl butter and it made an outstanding glaze to the sliced steak.

Made this yesterday for a BBQ with my in-laws and is was a hit. Very tasty. Anticipating that it would be good, I am making it again today for another large BBQ. The horse radish dressing was great, I will add fresh topped chives today instead of just the blanched chives.

I love grilled foods, totally! Just seeing the picture of this recipe, I can say it's really one great meal worth cooking. I am glad you posted the recipe but it kinda made me hungry though.lol. What makes it even better in my own opinion is the marinade. Just like barbecue , it will definitely taste great because of its marinade. For sure I will try to cook this delicious and mouth watering steak recipe. Again, thanks for sharing. I'm excited! woohoo!

I am afraid there is a problem with the proportions in this marinade recipe. One cup of vinegar was just way too much. We had to throw most of the meat out. Someone from the FoodNetwok needs to modiify this recipe.

First time trying this recipe and LOVED IT. Grilled the Flat Iron Steak to medium and used the horse radish sauce good as well. Grilled the patatoes, sweet patatoes, and yellow corn.
