I made this cake for a dinner party of 10 and it was so amazing everyone was almost licking their
plates. I used fresh dates & I made it all earlier in the day and just before I served it I warmed up the sauce & cake & served it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was so moist & delicious this is definitely a keeper. The only thing was the recipe consists of 2 cakes I only got to use one & had to freeze the other, so next time I will half the recipe. BEST Sticky Toffee Cake ever!

I made this recipe as cup cakes, it made 32. I thought it was fun to make. I had everything lined up and ready to go.I did have a small problem with the baking powder, it did not blend in with the batter (my bad. Must of been old. But they still tasted great. My plumber and neighbors are not complaining.

Time consuming but worth it. Caramel sauce is to die for. Easy stuff to do though, just alot of time. The only way I will eat Dates!

I really wanted to love this recipe. I usually love Ina Garten's recipes. But it's just way too rich. Between the cake and the toffee sauce, this recipe calls for a full pound of butter. It just tasted like butter and not much else.

Wow, this is, seriously, the best dessert I have ever had! Don't change a thing. I could not find regular dates at my grocer, so I used Medjool and it was amazing. The simmering seems to make the dates just "melt" into the cake. Even my dinner guests who SWORE they don't like dessert OR dates, absolutely loved this.

OMG Words cannot describe how amazing this cake is!! If you don't like dates you will still love this. When I made this in two 9 inch cake pans it overflowed in the oven. This is my favorite dessert. I served with whip cream.

This is one of the best cakes I ever tasted. Soooooooooo moist. It made enough for two cakes. We ate one and I froze the other for a later date. The next time I will make it with figs just to see how it comes out. Thanks Ina and Laura

This cake is amazing! I think you can easily make three cakes with this recipe.
