Absolutely one of the best, if not THE best, dessert I've ever had. I made it for my family and my dad does NOT like desserts -he LOVES this. My family and I were literally cannibals fighting over the toffee-covered edges. I would highly recommend this cake to anyone; it is DIVINE. Thank you Ina and Laura for ruining my diet.

Very good. Actually preferred the taste an hour or so later. It got better as it sat. But good to serve warm, so reheat a bit in microwave before serving with ice cream. Not sure if I will make again, but enjoyed it this time.

LOVE it! Thank you to Ina for sharing this recipe on the show. It was easy and turned out exactly like it was described on the show. I made it how this recipe described putting the Carmel on the bottom. Next time maybe I will try it how they made it on the show...by pouring the Carmel on the top, maybe with some toasted walnuts!! For those who are wondering what the cake tastes like it reminded me of carrot cake. Very light texture and just delicious!

Very good dessert for your sweet-tooth friends and family.
HOWEVER, I would use two 10-inch spring form pans instead of the 9 inch cake pans. The batter over-flowed from the cake pans.

I was very impressed with how easy it was to prepare the batter. My entire family loved this cake, my 5 year old twins asked for seconds. The perfect cake to bring to a party. It will surprise everyone one when they learn this is a date cake...a moist date cake.

It's super moist and yummy. Serve it hot. I followed the show's method for poring the toffee on the cake. Remove the cake from the pan first, then poke holes all over and pour the toffee on it.
