Made it for breakfast this morning. It was delicious and my family liked it. However, if I made it again I would tweak the recipe just a tad. I thought that the recipe for the batter was not egg-y enough. I'd maybe half the milk next time -- this would also make the bread crisp up nicer.

In addition, I think there was too much filling. There could have been 20-30% less filling in each slice.

In addition, I would have liked some berries thrown in there (in addition to or in place of the bananas.

My husband and I were trying to come up with a fun and delicious addition to our Easter brunch, and we found the perfect thing with this recipe! We tried this recipe last weekend, and were thrilled with how it turned out. Since some of our guests aren't banana fans, we split the filling in two and tried half with chopped fresh strawberries and half with a black raspberry jam. Both were so good, we're still trying to figure out which one to use this weekend. I can't wait for everyone's reactions!!

This took me just a few minutes to prepare....I added a fresh blueberry pureed sauce instead of syrup! So delicious!

This recipe is soo good!!!! My mawmaw makes the best french toast ever and I think this actually beat her's ... so good ... very filling and very rich! the syrup was SOOO good, I think that was one of my favorite parts of the dish! It gave the toast so much flavor and the taste of homemade syrup, very yummy! the syrup does need to be made first!! if you cook it at the same time it will be too runny, I made mine like 45 minutes before I started cooking the french toast!

It was simply divine :- Instead of bananas I used fresh apples and pecans! We didn't have any need for the syrup, the pastry like stuffing was perfect!

I made this for my family and it was delicious! Very rich and I could only eat a small amount of it, but it was sooooo good. It would make a good side dish with a savory breakfast. It could also work as a dessert. It was easy to make, too.

It passed my five year-old's taste test, and that is a more difficult bench mark than you can realize!
