We made this for Easter dinner and it was fantastic! We loved the flavor in this slaw and mix of textures. We liked it so much that we're making it again today for a lunch we're serving for 70 people tomorrow. When we made it, we went with pre-shredded bags, but could only find broccoli/carrot mix, and it was fantastic. For our own preferences, we think it's best with the apples cut pretty chunky so you can still taste them, as well as with some kind of nut (we used almonds last time, but I think we might go with pecans or walnuts this time to add a little warmth. It's a great, quick slaw.

Tasty even when you don't have all the exact ingrediants. I used Fuji apples and black raisons, added Tbl sugar instead of salt and pepper and a little more vinager to taste. It was delicious. Hardly any mayonaise taste.

This was a big hit served Christmas Eve with baked ham. Easy to make, I made it the day before and used half sour cream and half mayonaise. My husband doesn't like the taste of mayonaise and he never knew it was in the dressing. Everyone loved the tartness of the Granny Smith apples and the sweetness of the golden raisins.

I too took the short cut and bought the ready made slaw mix. This receipe had me on line purchasing a food processer! cutting those apples was painstacking! LOL I loved the celery seed addition.........different but good.

I made this slaw with the beans and chopped barbecue for our weekly family dinner. It makes a TON of slaw. Unfortunately, most of it is still sitting in my fridge because no one loved it. The recipe makes for a pretty bland dish so I doubled the raisins and apples. (Be sure to peel the apples and carrots even though the recipe does not specify. It was better, but still nothing special. After seeing the family reunion episode, I was excited to try these recipes. Sadly, I don't think I'll be making this one again any time soon.

Yum! My family loved this slaw with pork tenderloin. Took a short cut and used 2 bags of
ready cole slaw with carrots. Came out great! Served 8.

I really like this coleslaw recipe. Would never have thought to put raisins or apples in coleslaw, but it gave it a nice sweet taste. I added a little extra vinegar. Makes a lot of coleslaw. Thanks!

The Granny Smith apples give a wonderful, crisp/tart kick to this slaw. I also love the tang of the vinegar. One thing I never thought of using in a slaw is Celery Seed and I love how it works with the other ingredients.

Another great thing about this recipe is that you can adjust the dressing ingredient measurements to suit your family's taste--always a plus for any recipe. This is a quick, tasty dish you can easily take to a pot luck and get great reviews!

I was VERY leary of the apples and raisins in this coleslaw. We have made slaw before with apples and raisins in it and it was just not good at all LOL, this however, on a hot summer night in Florida was a very refreshing accessory to the pork sandwich.
