These are a great quick fix dessert & so easy to make,I just could not believe it.It tastes really nice but the only thing was that I dont know why I thought that the vanilla essence was too dominating.I used the exact amount as the recipe & it overlapped the authentic flavor which is of the toasted nuts & cinnamon which you would find in authentic baklava.I will not use vanilla essence next time. Also i used lemon juice instead of the zeast & went easy on the salt. But overall a good recipe.

I made this last minute when my family was coming to dinner.. HUGE success…they loved that it is a baklava but not with the sticky/messy hands

I usually do not write a review if I made changes. However, the only change I made was swapping pistachios for pecans. All I can say is YUMMY. I don't think I have ever made a dish that was so simple that had this wow factor. There was more filling left over but I just put in in the freezer until I can pick up more fillo cups.

These are so good and easy. I highly recommend them. I made the following changes after reading these reviews. I used three boxes of filo cups and more syrup.
One more change I did was use mini muffin cup liners on a cookie sheet since I didn't have three mini muffin pans. This way I could make all 45 at once. They worked really well for holding the syrup in and the presentation was very nice.
Also, they freeze really well.

WOW these are so good. and much more simpler to make than traditional baklava. although next time i don't think i'll add as much lemon zest. but it was delicious nonetheless!
