This recipe is great! My husband requested that I make at least once a week. It was hard to find the empanada dough so I used pasty pie dough and it was light and fluffy.

Awesome! I used pre-made pie crust (Pillsbury and used leftover steak. Minced it in my food processor and added it to the the onions and garlic. Wonderful combinations of flavors. Kids loved it! I used half of all the spices because we are not big ethnic hot spice eaters. Really good. My 15 yr old wants the leftovers for lunch!

I saw Sunny make these the other day, and I had to give it a shot. I liked that they were baked rather than fried for those calorie conscious out there. Great flavor (although I left out the curry because I'm not a fan of the spice. I highly recommend the sazon wash! It really adds flavor and color. This would be an excellent recipe to get the kids involved too!!

Made this recipe according to directions except I used crescent rolls as pre-made empanada dough is unavailable here. I don't know what I expected but these were edible, though basically flavorless.

Made these today. I used the ready made pie crust in place of the empanada shells. Also omitted the curry because we are not big curry fans. They were really good. My husband even liked them and he lived in Central America for a few years.

Also, I let my 12 year old help. Lots of fun.

Made these with my 10, 8 and 3yr olds. Not only fun to make but fun to eat. YUM! These are also great made with cream cheese and guava paste - lose the Sazon and other spices! As for Donna Y, she certainly doesn't exude the grace and charm Southern women are known for. (Must be a transplant. Perhaps she should switch channels to Kitchen Nightmare?

Made this last night. Couldn't find the empanada wrappers so we used puff pastry instead. Very good!

Please help me find the pre-made empanad dough. I live in Long Beach, CA and searched in 4 grocery stores but no luck. I tried making them with bread dough they turned out ok but not very pleased with the end result.
