    This is the only chili I make in my house. My ten year old (who hates to eat her veggies actually gets excited when I tell her this is what we are having for dinner. I honestly don't miss having beans in my chili, because this recipe is so good! It's super easy to make and the entire family loves it. I'm making it right now and thought after the tenth time of making this I should probably rate it. I'm not sure why this doesn't have a 5 star rating, it's an awesome recipe!

    I thought this was very tasty. My family thought otherwise. I would change the 80/20 ground round to a higher meat to fat content. Too much grease. Plus I'd call this a stew vs. a chili. My family was looking for the beans. I made white rice to accompany this which worked well.

    I'm very proud to say that my chili brings raves, but I never would have thought to add butternut squash! GENIUS! I also add corn and shredded carrots...adds flavor and better nutrition! Thanks Chic!

    I actually made it in October 2011 and loved it. You have to tweek the seasonings to your liking. The seasonings may not be enough for some, too much for others and just right for someone else. I'm getting ready to make it for the Superbowl Bash. Can't wait....extremely tasty. Goes well with the mexican chips she made with the chili on one of her episodes. Go Sunny!!!!

    SUPER disappointed. This chili recieved great reviews from most people. I made it and followed the directions to the "T", except I added only 1 cup of beef stock versus 1.5. In the end, it was very boring chili. Sounds like it would be tasty based on the many ingregients, but it wasnt. The "WOWSA"?!? This was so far from wowsa. It was so bad that we made a batch and didn't even keep the huge bowl of leftovers. Just. Not. Good.

    WOWZA!!! I made this the very next day after this epsiode aired.
    At that time only 4 reviews -- ALL GOOD. I have always read the reviews, but had never written one. Well that's changed!!! People -- this recipe is AMAZING!!! Last night we had some that I had froze and let me tell you that it was just as wonderful.
    My husband and I are nuts about this recipe and Sunny too!! It may seem like alot of ingredients -- but worth every bit of love you put into making it!! I now want to plan a PARTY to share this dish with all my friends. THANK YOU SUNNY -- Best Chili EVER!!

    Everyone in family enjoyed this, but I still give it 4 stars. The combination of seasonings is really original and nice, but I wouldn't say great. I agree, you really can't taste the squash. But so why is it in the title? Why overpower it so with seasonings, long time cooking, and beef?
    I lowered fat by cutting oil in half & using non-stick pot & also grd sirloin. I reduced salt by a third & used low sodium broth. Worked fine for related issues & tastes.
    Pumpkin pie spice: couldn't find. Used internet recipe for same: 1/2 t grd cinnamon, 1/4 t grd ginger, 1/8 t grd allspice (or cloves, 1/8 t grd nutmeg= 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice.

    What a wonderful change from regular chili! It was the perfect combination of flavored...unique and delicious! I loved the fact that my family was eating such healthy and fresh vegetables, and without one complaint. We all loved the gentle heat of the chili-just the perfect amount without being overbearing. We will definitely have this dish again throughout the chilly weather. Nice job, Sunny! :
