I'll be honest I cooked this about a year ago, so I don't remember the prep work. However, the taste I remember was very off. I do recall struggling to get my patties to look like Sunny's, but they were passable. I love Sunny, but I won't be making these sandwiches again anytime soon.

After all the wonderful reviews for this recipe, I was really excited to make this sandwich. I followed the recipe to a "t" and as I was making this, all I could think about was how bad it looked. I trudged on...and finished it. So, I served it and it was NOT a hit like I was expecting. After I told my husband he didn't have to eat it, he said "thanks!" I was really wanting it to be good but it just wasn't.

This was really good and I normally don't like chorizo. Used buttered toast instead of pitas. Was SO easy. Will definitely make again.

Really, really delicious. If you can't get your hands on fresh chorizo I feel sorry for you! These patties were so flavorful. I made them on my George Foreman grill so they cooked up super quick. Used whole wheat flatbread that I put on the grill as well. Try these!!
P.S. Yes, the patties are hard to shape so I sprayed the palms of my hands with cooking spray and they were much easier to handle.

1st time using chorizo - I expected a little more heat - probably varies between chorizo used. Was not displeased with amount of heat - the only changes I made were ground turkey and fresh marjorum and a small amount of fresh parsley instead of oregano and I used gruyere cheese and thin wheat sandwich buns. With the carmelized onion this dish was delish.

These burgers are one of my favorite! Next to Butter Burgers (yum...anyway...followed the recipe except I didn't have any swiss so I used provolone. I also didn't wipe out the pan. The burgers do take longer to make than 3 minutes a side. There is also no need for ketchup at least I think so. Yum.
