but seriously folks, this recipe is a winner .... oh, fearless reader of all things food network ... miss it at your peril ! ... using the whole tomatoes is a great ( and squishy idea ... it brightened up my day - even more than that, it made the day "sunny".

[ and no, i have not been drinking the leftover vodka ( hic! ; ]

This recipe was even better than the packaged version I used to buy! I added mushrooms and omitted jalapeno. Next time, I will drain the whole tomatoes to reduce amount of liquid. There wasn't a strong vodka taste just great flavor. I always use chicken sausage so this was a plus to have another great tasting recipe.

I substituted chorizo sausage and omitted the jalepino. This still has a bite but not firey hot.

I really enjoyed this recipe. The store was sold out of the hot paprika, so I just mixed it with a little cayenne. It felt elegant, yet really easy. I agree that the vodka is more for show and kudos than for actual taste, but it did add something special to the dish. If you're on the fence about this one, I say go for it! :

I used spicy turkey sausage instead of chicken and bumped up the seasoning! It was fantastic!!

I had been tempted to try this recipe for a while and was pleasantly surprised at how unbelievably good it was! Perfect when you want something wonderful fast or if unexpected guests drop by. Try it!

This is a fantastic dish!! My boyfriend begs me to make this again and again, and it is SO easy! I made a few substitutions: Used hot turkey sausage instead of chicken sausage. I also found that the whole tomotoes with liquid made the sauce too watery. Instead I used crushed tomatoes, and it was perfect! I used penne noodles the second time I made this and they worked better with the sauce than the rigatoni. I also went very easy on the cream. I only used a quarter cup and it was still delicious!

I made this tonight and it was great! But a warning - make sure to wash your hands thoroughly (even under your nails or wear gloves. The jalapeno burned my skin.

I thought this recipe was very good, but my only complaint was that it wasn't spicy at all. I was a little disappointed with that so I think next time I'll be using spicy sausage, or maybe another jalepeno. The sauce was delicious as is though, if you aren't looking for something hot! So I definitely recommend it!
