I've made this dish twice now for my kids and they can't wait until we do it again. We enjoy most pasta dishes but this one is our number 1!!!!!!!!!!!!

A girlfriend had us over for dinner this week and made this. She has gotten to be quite the "Food Network recipe" connoisseur. What a great choice!! It is absolutely wonderful!! As stated in previous comments, she modified it a bit...italian sausage, regular paprika/cumin. The combination of flavors was perfect!! I will be preparing this recipe again.....my family will love it!!

This was the most delicious thing ever. I can't find chicken sausage at my grocery store, so I use turkey sausage. Also, the first time I made it I didn't have Hot Paprika so I used regular. Also, I let it simmer for a long time, probably about an hour. It was so good, my boyfriend said it was the best thing he's ever eaten. The second time I made it, I used hot paprika. It made it a lot spicier. It was still delish, but I think I prefer it without such a spicy kick. Or maybe just not use as much next time. Whoever said this was horrible, obviously did something wrong. THE BEST!!!

I made this recipe for my first meal with my new boyfriend and we both loved it. There was a ton of extra sauce and I made pasta to go with it and brought it for lunch at work, and it continued to be delicious until it was gone! I found jalapeno-pepper chicken sausage at the grocery store and I used that, so the recipe turned out a bit spicier than it should have, but we like spicy food. My only problem is that now he expects me to make delicious food every time I cook...

I had to make some substitutions. I used sweet italian sausage. I have not seen any Hungarian hot paprika in the stores around here, so I used regular Spanish Paprika, with a smidgen of cayenne powder. Nor did I see canned whole tomatos with basil, so I chopped a few fresh basil leaves from the garden and threw them into the pot with the tomatoes. We also upped the heat factor and used a Chile De Arbol from the garden. (I don't recommend this for anyohe who finds japapenos hot.

We cooked it up tonight, and fell in love with it! It is simply the most delicious pasta dish I have ever had. I've never had vodka sauce before. We are hooked now! And I must say the Asiago cheese sure is a must, it gives this sauce a flavor I've never tasted, and doubt any other cheese could do quite the same justice ot the sauce.

This was well worth the effort, and very filling too! There are only two of us, and we had enough left over for a couple more meals! I sure wish The Olive Garden had this dish with the vodka sauce,. It's kind of sad that one can't eat something this good when eating out. It makes it not worth the trouble of eating out when I can cook a better dish thatn any offered in the local resturants! That's how good this dish is.

This was a wonderful recipe for my family that likes a little spice & flavor with their meal. Instead of heavy cream I used light & instead of Asiago cheese I used what I had in the refrig. & it turned out just fine. I Highly recommend, in fact I fax'ed the recipe to my mom.

I really enjoyed making and eating this dish. Don't know why the Vodka makes it taste so good, but it really does!
I would use more cream and vodka next time, because it seemed to soak into the pasta quickly. In fact did need more liquid the next day (the next day flavor on this one is excellant also...had a chance to marry And my husband fought me for the left overs....which I hid to make sure I got some!
I didn't have turkey sausage so used the turkey thighs that I had marinaded and roasted from the day before.
I couldn't find the Hungarian paprika so I used regular and I would use less of that next time, because I did need to cook longer to mellow the flavor out a little. I would think smoked paprika would be good also.
Thanks Sunny! You really have a great twist on recipes, so they aren't boring.

This has to be the worst thing I have ever made. My growing teenager suddenly lost his appetite.

Great recipie! Used mild italian turkey sausage and half and half instead of heavy cream. My picky family went back for thirds! Will probably add either an extra jalepeno, red peper flakes, or hot italian turkey sausage. This is definitely a keeper!

I modified the recipe a little and used sweet Italian sausage instead of chicken sausage, and I didn't make it as spicy. It was soooo good. I've never used heavy cream in pasta sauce before. The family loved it.
