Why alwas use recipes with an overload of flavors?
This remains me to 'faster, higher, more!'
That much sugar, that much butter - and sooo salty at the same time.
And a 'chocolate-lover' never would use this pale, cocoa powder as shown in the show.
Dark, rich cocoa powder would be the choice. You need less, but the taste boosts.
Ok, it is less de-oiled and might have some calories more - but hey, use less sugar, less butter and enjoy a real taste.

I found this recipe easy to make last minute, very chocolatey and a simple ingredient list made it easy to make on impulse. It was very chocolatey but very good. It was great warm the first night and cold left over the next day. Set up fine for me.

I skeptically tried this recipe, but it was good. I'm not really fond of the strong chocolate taste in most homemade puddings, but this was not too much. The only thing that I didn't make were the pretzels because I made this last minute and didn't have any. The great part was I could make it with what I already had in my kitchen. A little whipped topping would have been nice to break up the strong chocolate taste, but other than that it was good. My kids put diced bananas in it and loved it. It was creamy and pudding-y...

Okay so I didn't make the pudding because I agree with Sanda Lee, WHY?!? I bought Jello-O chocolate pudding. But the pretzels, ohh blah black yuck yeww. Totally check out the recipe from CHEX.COM for school fuel this sugar coating is yuck, try something more along the lines of karo, butter and brown sugar. EVEN BETTER and microwave-able.

I tried this recipe, and it did not set. I used bakers semi sweet instead of chips, maybe this is why it did not set? This also happened when I made a pudding from Martha Stewart. First time, perfection, second time, did not set, I made that one the exact same way. I do not know why it did not set, it was thick and everything. Taste is YUMMY!, but runny. Any advise?

I almost did not make the recipe because of Lisa's review. I am glad I did. Lisa must not have used cocoa. This is a very rich chocolate pudding with a creamy, velvety texture. I will make it again. I preferred whipped cream with chocolate shavings over the pretzels.

You can make it with normal staple items. I used about 8 small Ghiradelli dark choclate squares for the semi sweet chips, It was DELICIOUS!!!! Thanks Sunny !!!

I wanted to try this recipe because I thought the salty pretzels would be an interesting combination to the chocolate pudding. I thought the pudding didn't have enough flavor, maybe a little vanilla extract would liven it up. I've made homemade pudding before and I thought this recipe just wasn't that great. Also, the pretzels really didn't do much either.
