This was one of my favorites! Time consuming yes, took me a couple of hours to cook it.
I have a hard time with the meat still on the bone though, I don't think I could serve this at a dinner party. Maybe if I would have cooked it a little longer I could pull the meat off? I doubt it though.
Any way...my husband said IT ROCKED!

This recipe is wonderful and easy. You basically only have to budget time for marinating the meat and simmering time. I didn't use the bacon as I didn't want the extra calories, and it was fine without it. I would cut down on the Cayenne or cut it out completely. Some people didn't want to throw out the vegetables, but the flavors have infused into the gravy by the time you toss them, and you get a silky, smooth, brown gravy that is outrageous. They have also been simmering for an hour so don't have much going for them by that time. This is a keeper and will be made often. Thanks Sunny!

One of the best things I've ever eaten! To be honest, I've never had this dish before. I couldn't resist trying it after watching Sunny make this on Food Network. I did not discard the veggies. I kept them! I also used boneless chicken breast instead of the legs. I think this recipe is just fabulous! Thank you Sunny! Rave reviews from even the pickiest members of my family!

I saw the rerun of Sunny cooking this recipe the other day and decided I wanted to try it. Unfortunately I didn't have any red wine on hand but I did have a bottle of rose wine so I improvised with it. Being in SC means that you can't buy alcohol on Sundays and that is when I needed to start the marinate.
It was a bit time consuming to make but well worth it. My husband and I both loved it and I will definitely be cooking it again. I would be proud to serve this dish while entertaining.

This dish sounds amazing!! I would love to cook it for my boyfriend who doesnt live with me. Does anyone have any good ideas on how I could cook most of it at my own house, bring it to his and then finish off the dish? I would really appreciate it.

This receipe took a little longer than I am used to ( I am a great fain of 30 minute meals! but it was worth it!! I even got raves from my mom. I did not discard the the veggie, just pureed and strained them into the sauce. I could not throw away food!! I will DEFINATELY be making this dish again!
