We had friends over for Friday Night Dinner and this dish was a "hit and homerun". Didn't have a single piece left. Got SOOOO many compliments.
Used semi-sweet wine and added extra garlic and mushrooms. Definately will make it again. Yummmy!

How easy was this????? I have made Coq Au Vin before, but my Grandmother's recipe seemed to take all day, and always better the next day. Marinating the chicken took all of the time out of making a dish my husband thought was one I only made for guests. Thank you for this wonderful change to a traditional recipoe! It will be made again and again!

Very, very flavorful and the time and effort was worth it!! I will definitely make this again. I'm not a fan of garlic so I only used one clove of garlic instead of four and it was fine. Thank you, Sunny!!

Let me start by saying my husband commented three times how good it was and said it was definitely a make-again meal. There was nothing hard about it although it was a little time consuming. I wasn't able to find fresh thyme so I used dried instead. I'm not sure if that made much of a difference. Also, since I caught her show (first time I ever watched her about 10 minutes into it I didn't see what kind of red wine she used. The recipe doesn't say and there are many varieties to chose from. I wasn't even sure if she meant cooking wine or just any red wine, so I used a merlot. It must have worked because the family loved it. The chicken fell off the bone and the muchrooms and pearl onions were delicious. Enjoy!
