Ingredients
- 6 sprigs fresh thyme
- 6 strips bacon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 8 chives, roughly chopped
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice, plus 1 lemon, zested
- 3 teaspoons hot sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, cut into 8 wedges
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Put the thyme sprigs on a foil-lined baking sheet. Line the bacon strips over the top then sprinkle with brown sugar. Transfer to the middle rack of the oven and bake until crisp, 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool, then crumble or chop the bacon along with sticky thyme and set aside. In a blender, add the chives, garlic, buttermilk, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest and hot sauce. Blitz until smooth. Taste, then season with salt and pepper, to taste. Arrange the lettuce on serving platter, drizzle with buttermilk dressing, and sprinkle with crumbled bacon before serving.

i just had this salad. It wasn't sure if i would like it at first, because I am very picky, but i loved it. After my second helping...I drank the dressing alone.

Dressing was amazing, and the Bacon was some of the best I've ever had. I've made the bacon a few times since and it's always so good. The salad was out of this world.
