I just made the onion strips. They are fabulous!! They are so crispy and the batter doesn't come off. I couldn't get them out of the oil fast enough for my daughter so she could eat them. This will be a dish made again and again in my house!

I don't usually eat much fried foods, but these were GREAT!!!!!! They weren't too heavy. Great flavor. I made the onion strips and my son put together a great sauce to dip them in. This was the first recipe that I made from sunny and it was outstanding. Susan Aberdeen,NC

I have to agree with Gretchen. This recipe was amazing. My bf and I made these last night and they were sooo good. We ended up using like 3 huge onions and made a ton!! They were so easy to make and like Gretchen said...it really helps that they were strips, not rings. Almost every time I eat onion rings, the onion comes out of the batter when you bite it, but these are bite size, so you don't even get that option! They were so light and crispy.

For the people that watched this episode, Sunny actually made a Chipotle Cheese sauce to go with her Philly Cheesesteak. We made that sauce to go with the onion rings. It was SOO good. We look cheese, so we added twice as much cheese as the recipe called for...which made the sauce VERY thick....but good.

These were excellent! I have had such a hard time finding a recipe for onion rings that the batter wasn't too heavy, or that it slid off the onion. I loved that these were strips, instead of rings! I made them for my daughter's friends that came over for movie night, and they loved them!! I served with ranch dressing and chipotle mayo for dip. I used Frank's Hot Sauce for the hot sauce mixed with the buttermilk. Thanks, Sunny!! And I loved the SONIC story! ;o
