This tea is wonderful, I have made it a half dozen times. Am making some right now as there are ripe pears in the stores. Have found for us about 1 t sugar sweetens enough. The ginger is so refreshing!

This really is a perfect drink. I made Sunny's cucumber drink before and it was way too sweet but this one is just right. There is just enough ginger to give it zing without overpowering the pear. I made mine with Asian pears and the flavour of the fruit was delicate but lovely. I even use this to make my super immunity mango smoothies taste even better, which I did not think was possible. I've made this tea a couple of times and enjoyed every drop. The flavors of pear and ginger marry quite nicely together. Using less or no sugar worked for me however. I've thought about using cooked pears in a breakfast muffin mix, anyone have any ideas about this?

Has anyone tried using canned pears? I just know that's something I have on hand a lot. I only saw the tail-end of the show both times I've seen it. Maybe that's something she mentioned on it?

I was a little hesitant because I am not a tea drinker, but I was intrigued by the flavors of pear and ginger so I decided to give it a try. Sooo glad I did. Absolutely wonderful. I couldn't stop drinking it. I had to get more ingredients to make another batch. As Sunny would say, "You gotta give this a try."

I've made this recipe 6 times now. Have discovered you only need to dice the pears and you can leave the skins on. (unless you plan on doing something with them after making the tea I also add 6 whole cloves and a tsp of orange zest. I triple the recipe and use 1/2 cup sugar total.

I knew I wanted to serve tea for Christmas dinner but I wanted something that has a WOW factor. I was not sure about this tea so I brewed some peach tea just in case. Let me tell you there was no need to make the peach tea. The pear ginger tea was a huge hit and it was soooo good. I only wish I had made more because there was none left at the end of the night.

Delicate, refreshing, and delicious! This was a hit at our Asian Potluck! It was super easy and a keeper recipe! I've been blessed with free pears from a friend and I used the pickled ginger (we use for sushi and it was delicious. I'm going to watch this show more often. Everything I've seen her cook looks and so far tastes delicious and not to complicated

Everybody else stole my "refreshing" adjective but it is. This is just a lovely beverage. I added an extra pear because I thought mine were small and used Splenda instead of sugar. Next time I'll use less or even skip it if the pears are ripe.

I love this "tea"! I only used one teaspoon of sugar so as to not drown out the delicate pear flavor (it was still PLENTY sweet. Also, when finished, I fished out the ginger and used the cooked remnants of the pear in a "pearsauce" recipe (like applesauce, but pearsauce!. I've made this tea three times in the past few weeks, each time doubling the recipe--we just can't get enough.
