This is my favorite granola recipe and I've tried many. I like the fact that it is low in oil. I usually omit the brown sugar b/c I'm trying to cut back on sugar. I switch up the nut/seed mixture each time, but it always turns out well. Thanks Sunny! Love your show!

This recipe is such a hit in my house that I half to make batch nearly daily. The kids add it their yogurt. I make the batch without the nuts for the yogurt. Nobody walks past the bowl without grabbing a handful. When I do add nuts I like to substitue with cashews or peanuts.

I used a lil nutmeg as well a few dashs, I love nutmeg. I also used 1/3 blueberry, 1/3 cranberries, 1/3 diced apracots. I didn't use walnuts because I don't like them. You can use ANY nut as a substitue. I just used sunflower seeds. I didn't use the M & M's because Im not a fan of them in my granola. I did use REAL maple syrup. Not anchamima (sp REAL which is actually sweeter and YUMMY! I think next time I might add more brown sugar! So far so good. And wow this was simple, easy and SO yummy and a great sweat healthy treat! Thanks Sunny!

Oh my gosh. I just made the first batch of this about 2 hours ago, and now I'm on batch #2. This in so good. Can't wait to have it tomorrow morning on some yogurt. I'm making up Christmas Baggies to give to all my girlfriends too...........Sunny, you ROCK! The only change I made was w/ the sunflower seeds. Wasn't sure if I should use salted or unsalted, but when I went to the store this morning, they had honey roasted. Oh yeah...............they are good!

    or
3/4 cup (180 ml corn syrup plus 1/4 cup (57 grams butter plus 1/2 teaspoon maple extract (optional

I made this very late tonight so hubby could take a little bag to work with him tomorrow, and I could have it to eat on top of yogurt. It is so easy to put together and so deliciously flavorful.

I set the oven a 325 degrees, but was baking with convection. So after almost 30 minutes, the mixture was still very moist and heavy, and hadn't started to toast or clump at all.

So I increased the heat to 350 degrees on the regular bake instead of convection, and it started working much better. In all though, I ended up baking it almost 50 minutes before it really toasted up and got that nice texture.

I used dried cherries instead of cranberries, I added a few finely chopped dried apricots, and for my taste, I added a little more than 1/2 the coconut to the wet mixture so it would bake and get toasted.

Right out of the oven, I sprinkled on the remainder of the coconut, and also added about 1/4 cup of semi-sweet choclate chips sprinkled over the top to get soft and gooey. I waited til it completely cooled to add the M&M's.

This recipe is a winner, and could easily be made as a double batch to take to work and share with friends. Nice going Sunny!
