    These are awesome, but I'm a fan of any kind of greens anyway. For those who would prefer them a little healthier, we often substitute smoked salt for the smoked meat. It's just as good, except it's meatless.

    Doesn't take Greens 3 hrs to cook. It takes that long for the ham hock to get tender. Suggest that you cook the ham hock until it is tender, then add the greens. Cooking greens for 3 hrs made them too soft and it cooks all of the nutrients out of them.

    Saw the Show. Cooked on Sunday. Since I was in a rush I used Glory Greens already Cleaned and chopped but it had steams so I had to cook longer. Also trying to be healthy I used smoked turkey parts for the hamhock. Greens came out great but in my family we always add a little sugar and two peppers from some vinegar pepper sauce. My dad loved them, and said I finally learned how to make Collard Greens.
