I tried this, followed the recipe to a T and it was...well, the only word is ick. I don't care what you do to Tofu it is just plain nasty crap and does not belong in anything. This was dry, tasteles, and the tofu in it SUCKED!! Stick with crab rangoon. And she talks way too much, was she even in Korea?

Having been to Korea several times and Yaki Mandu being one of my favorite foods there I had to try this. I found most of the ingredients pretty easily but the only won ton wrappers my grocery store had were square instead of round so I had cute little triangle dumplings. The dish was a huge success especially since I've never fried anything before and my boyfriend (who is not a fan of Asian food ate and liked them! I also had plenty left over so I stuck them in the freezer and I can't wait to see how well they turn out when I prepare them later. Thank you Sunny for showing me how to make these dumplings because it brought the flavors of Korea home for me and for anyone who wants to debate on what they should be called, try going to Korea and ordering them. You won't have any problems.

When I saw Sunny making this recipe, it really caught my attention. I've been making Yaki Mandu practically the same way since I was 15. Yaki Mandu is SO good and this version, though a little different than mine, is great!

As for the bickering about the name--it is entirely possible, since Japan invaded Korea a couple of times, that some Japanese words would make it into Korean vocabulary.

It doesn't matter--what matters is that Sunny brought a little Korean flavor back from good old Itaewon....I remember the shopping there when I was an Army brat.

If someone wants to write a review whether it be about the food or the chef than they are entitled to do so without be ridiculed by all of you. I think all of you people out there doing so need to get a life. We are all adults, aren't we? This is why I never post anything, because their are some people out there that just can't keep to themselves or keep their mouth shut about others comments. Samara, worry about your own review and not everyone else's!!

I'm so glad I found this recipe. I saw Sunny make this the other day and I immediately told my husband. He was stationed in South Korea and Yaki Mandu was his favorite. He was super excited when I told him I found the recipe. He loved it!

and to "mi" yaki-mandu is a Korean dish...even if Yaki is a Japanese word.

I find Sunny refreshing. She reminds me of my friends.

You know I read the reviews, like most people, because I want to know how the recipe worked for those who tried it. I don't care about your personal opinion of the host/cook. Look at the top of the screen it says REVIEW THE RECIPE for all the slow folks out there. This was a great recipe, if you like asian inspired foods you will surely enjoy this dish. Thanks Sunny!!!. And for all you Dorothy's of the world get a life. I bet people hate being around you because you just suck the joy out of life. Bottom line try the recipe and if you like it post what you liked about it and if you didn't like it then post that, it's that simple.

THis is a review about the food. So what if she mispronounced the name or if she enjoys talking. I love most all of her recipes and you can always adapt the recipe to fit your life style. Sunny is very, very refreshing and she would be a great neighbor or even friend to have. We all need upbeat people in our lives. She cheers me up. This was a wonderful recipe. The recipe was in the right order, they just forgot the period after the word Dried.

I just watched this on tv. I was slightly annoyed.

Sunny said "yaki" means fried in Korean... Actually, "yaki" means grilled in Japanese.

I think that is a big mistake. Korea and Japan are two different countries. If you want to make Korean dish and sound like an expert, some research is needed.

Yaki is such a common word in Japanese cooking. How could she get two separate and not even same meaning words confused. The word Yaki doesn't even sound Korean!

In Korean, you would call fried dumplings - "Gu-eun" (fried "Mandu" (dumpling.

I guess its good she did not call it Korean Yaki Gyoza.
