This was so delicious!! only made the waffles because hubby wanted them for breakfast added vanilla and did almond whipped cream. also did the lemon version for myself. I have tried lots of waffle recipes and this is the best one!! so yummy and i just sift the dry ingredients into a tubberware so there quick to make on school days!

Sunny, these recipes were absolutely delicious. Unlike some of the comments posted, I had no trouble following or reading the recipe. Reading through an entire recipe before I buy the ingredients & begin to cook, always seems to help. Seeing the show gave me a general idea of what needed to be done. I used 2 boneless skinless chicken breast instead of an entire chicken. We don't eat all the parts of the chicken. The rub went on perfectly by adding the butter to it at room temp. with a plastic spoon. It turned out moist, flavorful, & cooked to perfection in the time specified. The lemon & walnut waffles will be my new obsession for the next few days b/c I have leftover batter. They are absolutely delicious! The cumin or the thyme in the chicken tastes so good with the lemon in the waffles. I have been to Roscoe's chicken & waffles in ATL but I never ordered this in particular. I want to thank you for a delicious dinner! I will make this again & share this recipe!

I made the whole recipe from the show and thought the trio (chicken, waffles, and collards was a beast of a combination. I've never had a combo like that neither had my husband and we loved it. The waffles are so fresh and a nice change of flavor from typical waffles, the chicken was moist and full of excellent flavor, the collards were tangy, different from everyday collards, but the flavor worked with the trio, however I do think if you don't care for the flavor you could make regular collards and it would still be lip smacking. We've had the waffles just for breakfast, we've enjoyed the trio for dinner and brunch. Give it a try!

Ran out and purchased a waffle iron just so I could make these. It was well worth the purchase. All those eggs and fresh lemon zest made it really special and whipping the whites seperately made them so light. I'm in love. Thanks Sunny

I was watching your show and something came over me. Before I knew it I was in the kitchen making these delicious waffles. What a treat. I cooled what was left of the waffles I made...I only ate two and put the rest in a ziploc freezer bag. Now I will have them anytime I want them. I really enjoy your show. Thanks for keeping it REAL.
