My husbands favorite is cheesecake. So I made this recipe for his birthday. It was most definatly the best we have ever tried. The sour cream topping really set it off. Even my son loved it. All three kids helped make it, it was easy for them to follow. We all loved it.
Thanks,
Fergeson Family

Other than a couple of differences in baking times for the filling and filling plus topping, the recipe for this cheesecake can be found in the original Moosewood Cookbook published in 1977 by Mollie Katzen (recipes from the Moosewood Restaurant, Ithaca, NY. It's called "Montana Mom's Dynamite Cheesecake".

Grew up in Chicago during 30's and 40's. Granma always made cheesecake. The crust was crumbled baby biscuits (Zwiebach (sp? . IF you could find such baby biscuits...cheesecake crust is great...sweetness level being different than graham crackers. Yoday....living in California, I cannot find the baby crackers I described. Brand new...used Japanese bread crumbs...PANKO. This cheesecake was terrific!

I saw Sunny make this and I thought that looks easy enough. It was and it is very good. I would put it up to a restaurant cheesecake any day. This one's a keeper.
