Frosting was way too sweet. I made the frosting as described, but when I tasted it, all I could taste was sugar. I added quite a bit more peanut butter until I had a peanut butter flavor--making it almost one cup of peanut butter. I did not make the espresso cakes, but instead used the peanut butter frosting on top of chocolate cupcakes.

These were a hit at my church function. I, however, baked them up as individual cupcakes. Yes, they were a little dry, but I think the point is that you eat them with coffee or a tea. Love the smell of coffee!

I have to agree with other reviewers, the peanut butter icing is great....however the cake was not. It was somewhat dry. I even added mini chocolate chips as another reviewer did. It helped some, but cannot understand what happened. The coffee smell was wonderful, but not enough to say the cake was. I will use the icing recipe again, perhaps with a chocolate cake.

    OMG!!!!!
I doubled the recipe and made cupcakes for my Team ( as everyone else I over cooked them a bit as they crumbled the first day. I was generous with the AMAZING frosting. Thank goodness I had leftover's!! I kept in a throwaway cupcake tin with a high plastic tent top on the counter. The frosting didn't dry out and the cupcakes became surprisingly moist!!! Even the non-coffee drinkers devoured them and asked for another : Thanks Sunny! What a hit!!

This cake is to die for. This is my new favorite recipe and will be making it often. Super easy.
I made this in a 9x13 pan and baked for 30 minutes. It is so dense and moist. Plus, I added half a bag of mini chocolate chips. The frosting is so amazing. You will love it. All my co-workers do!

This is the best peanut butter frosting recipe that I have ever used. I've never made the cakes, but I guarantee the frosting is the best.

I loved this. The frosting is wonderful! I baked mine in a bundt pan, and think I may have over baked it. It was a tad bit dry, but I blame myself for that. Flavor was awesome! Great recipe!

I made them according to recipe. I may have baked a minute or two over so I'll have to be more careful next time. should have been more moist-otherwise taste was fabulous not overpowering-loved the PB frosting- I think I may change a few things next time and let you know.PS-for Chef wannabe- you can use a regular mixer on low speed.
