I have had the worst experience with the foodnetwork.com this season. So far 2/2 recipes that I picked from the site have came out terribly. I do not suggest this pumpkin pie recipe the texture is terrible, and the cakes do not come out normally. I had assumed they would be similar to mini pecan pies sadly, that is not the case they are more like pecan pumpkin nasties.

For those that are pumpkin ignorant like me - here's a tip. Pure pumpkin is the same as pumpkin puree. I didn't think about it when I bought the pure pumpkin. After baking with it, and getting slightly bland results, I realize that it doesn't have the seasoning the puree has (now evident by looking at the lack of ingredients in the pure pumpkin. Use the pie filling or add seasoning to the pure pumpkin. I give it 4 stars because I made the mistake.

I made them last night. They looked great. I made a mistake and put pumpkin puree instead of pumpkin pie filling which has the spices in it so it turned out a bit bland. I will try them again and add some pumpkin spice to the puree. I would cook the dough the full length of time because they came out a bit soft .

These were delicious!! I loved them and my family loved them; will definitely make again. My only tip would be to cook the dough the full length of time.

Great dessert. No it wasn't sickening sweet. It was just right. My husband loved them. I thought they were a nice treat and I don't even like pumpkin.
Not knowing, I filled the pumpkin mixture almost to the top. Next time I will fill only half way. That way they become more solid and packed. Perfect for taking places and popping in your mouth!
I took these to a potluck luncheon. I knew I should have made more than these cute 24. They were gone in a flash! Especially since my DH ate three fresh from the oven. I would definitely make these again, and I'd make at least two batches!!

Delicious! It didn't have quite as much pumpkin flavor as I thought it would. Disregarding that, it was still a tasty sweet treat. Next time, I will definitely try adding some of the spices recommended below!

I just did round 1 practice of this for Thanksgiving, and it's definitely going to be there. I love the crust. Nutty, buttery and delicate. Will surely use for other pies. The recipe makes plenty of dough if you remember to divide it in to 24 pieces before you start filling the cups. For the filling I noted the other review that said to add spices (since I used pumpkin puree instead of "pie filling" and so I used: 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp cardamom. I might add a just little more cinnamon or ginger next time, but as I made it, the spices were nice and mild. Just enough to compliment but not overwhelm the pecans and pumpkin.
