Absolutely delicious. I only used 1 tablespoon of the red pepper flakes because I don't need that much heat. I also used 16 oz lima beans, because I couldn't find a 12oz package. I didn't need that much liquid either. Other than that, I kept everything the same and it was amazing. This was my first Sunny recipe, and I will definitely try more. Hmmm hmmm hmmm.

So so so so good. Favor is excellent. It really warms you up. Great comfort food, easy to make in crockpot. Also there was so much juice left, made a great second meal with leftover turkey added to the liquid stew. Could not find gravy master in my area, but still a great dish (twice.

EXCELLENT RECIPE. I love it this is my third time making this. I just didnt add any of the spicy ingredient and it still came out great.

Very tasty dish! I have been looking for a good ox tail & rice recipe and finally found one. I followed the recipe exactly as written and it came out great. The next time I will use less than 2 tbs of salt at the end because it was a bit saltier than I like. Also, if you are wondering how much a bunch of Thyme is (as I did, I used about 4 sprigs and that seemed to be sufficient. Enjoy!

This dish was super easy, and very filling with good flavor. My husband didn't want to try the oxtails, but once he did HE went back for seconds. We had enough leftover for the following night and he had seconds then too! Thank you Sunny

"First,I would like to know why food net work put the worst comments first and the best comments last?"
First they don't, and second, they tend to delete the negative ones on principal. Next time check the dates.
Third I don't know what gravy starter is either, but I'm guessing stock or bouillion?
I love oxtails and barley, which this isn't, but I think I'll try it anyways.

You need to broaden your horizons. The best oxtail stew I ever had came from a street vendor"s lunch truck in St. Thomas, V.I. So yes, there is definetly a Caribbean version of oxtail stew. I haven't even prepared Sunny's yet but I know from reading the ingredients that it is at least good and possibly excellent.
