Will be making this later today, the pasta dough is currently in the fridge waiting to be rolled out and cut!~
In regard to a previous post, the only thing this dish really has in common with a carbonara is the cheese and it uses pasta LOL; carbonara is *traditionally* made with eggs (not cream, guanciale (sometimes pancetta is used/substitued and pecorino/romano cheese.
Carbonara is a basic recipe with many variations, but this is not one of them, the basics of the sauce aren't even there.

I made this exactly how Sunny did it and it was fantastic! I couldn't believe how so much flavor could come from such a simple dish. I will be making this again soon! Thanks Sunny.

It still amazes me how many people do not know basic recipes.
And how much they alter it. First off, This dish is another version of Pasta Carbanora. Which is basically made the same except with the "carbonara" there is a cream sauce. So, when you change all the vegs. you "change" the whole dish. try and go out and order this dish with "corn" or zuchhini and the chef will pop you in the head. lol
And this dish could not get any easier people. geezzzzzzz
I know the old saying "to each his own" but if you want to change things "that" much. try eating cereal with oj then. dont screw with something sooooo flipping easy and good.

I made this recipe exactly as written. It was very tasty - however, the parmesan cheese ended up "clumping" so I gave the recipe only four stars. If anyone has an idea as to why it did, please feel free to share.

Since I cudn't find whole wheat pasta I bumped up this dish with spinach. I also added left over chopped chicken and edamame. If your concerned about any salt just use small amount of salt for the pasta water and don't added anymore to the dish when finished. This was soo good and filling. The lemon juice at the end put this over the top. I will make this again.

I made this but I also used bacon instead had no pancetta on hand and instead of peas I used Sugar Snap Peas and it was great. I think this would be good with many different veggies and you can make it different almost all the time. Loved it Sonny and you are the best
Thanks

I had all the ingredients and it took very little time. My husband said it was good . He usually doesn't pick pasta for a meal. This means it is GOOD!

This recipe is very similar (minus the pancetta to one we had all the time as a child. The major difference is we always used a very small pasta such as small shells making mixing and incorporating the ingredients much easier. Also grandma used canned peas so that she could use the liquid from the can which added extra flavor.

Looks like a quick and easy pasta dish --- and something different than spaghetti with red sauce. I don't have pancetta on hand, but have bacon and keilbasa, so i might consider using kielbasa (cubed. It sounds delicious and I know the family will love it! Thanks Sunny for the twist on pasta!
