This recipe is a keeper! I made this for a party and everyone raved about it. The fresh lemons really brighten the dish's flavor. It makes an elegant presentation for any party/event. The only change I made was to add a bit of fresh lemon into the whipped cream.

This is an excellent dessert. I've never been a big fan of almond extract but it makes this dessert.

Turned out wonderful. Make a lower calorie lower fat version by substituting neufchatel cheese for the cream cheese and using baking splenda for the sugar. Even looked beautiful like the picture in a trifle dish when i did it!!!

The cream cheese whipped cream was amazing! It accented the tart berries perfectly and the lemon syrup brushed angel food cake mafe it even better. Brought it to a party, it was a HUGE hit! Definitely gonna make more often, especially when berries are in season.

This trifle was a dazzler, for sure. It's a gorgeous presentation with great flavor. The almond extract is subtle but amazing here. What I will do differently the next time around is only use half the called for cream. Two cups made the whole dish a little soupy once I started to serve it. One should work a lot better.

I made this for my husband and I; him being a health-food nut, me being an eat anything junkie = He went absolutely nuts on this, talking about how good it tasted and how "it looked exquisite". Definitely a must-try with simple ingredients!!
