I should have read the reviews before I made it and lowered the temp because the butter and sugar went all over the pan and burned. I agree with the other reviewers - too much butter and sugar. And the cheese was unnecessary. It was very simple though. I would use fresh pears next time and maybe add cream cheese. I also wouldn't cut it until I served it - I thought that step was unnecessary.

Great dessert. We, occasionally, cook a dinner at a senior center for 55 to 60 people. We used this as our dessert, at the last dinner. I had to go home and print 45 copies of the recipe. It was that great. We have tried this with different fruits. Outcome still the same. GREAT!

Made these for a Superbowl party. Quick, easy and delicious. But other reviewers are right about the temperature. I set the temp for 400 degrees and at 14 minutes, when I checked them, they were just starting to burn. I am making them, per request, next week for another party. I will lower the oven temp and check on them frequently. Also, I might try a few with blue cheese in the place of the cheddar.

I am SO upset! Been looking forward to making this and followed the recipes exactly only to have all my tarts burnt black! 400degrees is too high and next time I'll only heat it 350 like a previous reviewer had recommended. Not discouraged though and will try again...after I sulk over my burnt tarts :-(

I've made this about 4 times including for Thanksgiving dessert. I love this easy, impressive, quick and tasty recipe. I haven't put the cheese on it yet. I thought the sugar/cinnamon mix was too much as well as too much butter. I used butter on top also before I did the second sprinkling of sugar/cinnamon. I baked it at 350 degrees for the full time. The last time I ran out of pears and used a ripe banana I had on hand. That was good too. It's a very good recipe.

Love, love, love! First time using a Sunny Anderson recipe. Won't be my last.
Was a McGyver morning in the kitchen, as I desperately need to shop. Ended up using creme cheese/vanilla/sugar under peaches as topper. Yummy!!! I will be trying the exact recipe for dessert this week. Can't wait!

Pros: Tons of flavor. Simple recipe. A definite MUST make again!

Cons: Pastry dough thawing made it dry on the edges but then I buttered both sides, put it on the parchment paper and after baking it stuck a little more than anticipated.

Modifications: We used granulated sugar as that is what we had on hand and it worked out just fine.

I've made this dessert several times and now look like a super hero. My guests not only loved it but requested the receipe so that THEY can make it themselves. I've gotten feedback on how they've also gotten glowing reviews for this dish from their friends and family.
Thanks for putting us ALL on Sunny!

I also noticed that this is an absolute favorite with the men. Not to seem sexist.
