Caught part of this show the other day and had to try it....didn't have "gravy sauce" so just skipped it, otherwise I pretty much stuck to the recipe. Very good!! I think next time I will skip the breast meat and just use skinless thighs as they don't dry out and have more flavor, and I'm toying with adding another habanero....don't be afraid this will be too hot, it's not, just sort of tingles your tongue. I started to strain the onions out of the gravy, then changed my mind. You can never have enough onions! Probably will make a cornstarch slurry to thicken the pan gravy next time, though....I have a LOT of left-over sauce (but it's gonna taste really good over that leftover rice and peas!!. (and the few places I looked didn't have pigeon peas, so I used white acre peas and it worked fine. If I were serving this to company, I would consider pulling the chicken off the bone and returning it to the pan first, so you don't have to mess with the bones. But oh my, this is very tasty and I WILL be making it again!!

Loved this ckn. I normally don't like ckn with bone in it but I loved it this way. The meat fell right off the bone and it was so tasty through and through. Most try has alot of ingrediants but once its all in its easy...prep then just let it cook.

This was delicious. I love Sunny! I made this chicken along with the coconut rice and it turned out perfectly. Definitely one of my favorite recipes. It was also really easy to make, and healthy too.

Sunny is my new fave chef!!!!
I have made several of her recipes, and each one was better than I anticipated.
This chicken was sooooo delicious. The house smelled so good while it was stewing, it was hard to wait for dinner!!
Thanks again Sunny for a delicious recipe!!! I will keep watching.

I tried this recipe for Sunday dinner. We loved it! This recipe did not disappoint and the rice and peas were a great mate with this spicy and delicious chicken. Didn't understand the reason for "gravy" as the chicken & veggies provided enough gravy. This in my new "go to" chicken recipe. Sunny this is my first time trying one of your dishes. Look forward to trying more!

I made this recipe shortly after the show aired and it was FABULOUS. I omitted the apple and the haberno(replaced with cayenne and just paired it with plain white rice and cabbage. Also I kept the skin on the chicken. My boyfriend is enamored with it now and I will be making it again this weekend for his parents and mine. The flavors literally dance on your tongue and linger long after you are done eating. This will definitely become a staple in the dinner time rotation.
Keep em comin Sunny.

I have made this twice, and simply love the flavors. Real comfort food! I will make one comment, and that is to watch the salt. Taste often to determine if it needs any more. I put black beans in the rice, which was wonderful. My family loves this recipe, and it is indeed better the next day.

This dish took me back to my honeymoon in the Caribbean. It was easy (a wee bit time consuming, and totally worth the effort. Don't worry at all about the Habanero...left whole it only gives a hint of spice but, what a wonderful hint that is! Next time, I will cook it a teeny bit less because mine came out shredded (hey, what's wrong with that?. Served with the cocnut rice...you'll think you're in Paradise. Thanks Sunny. I'm a believer!

My son was coming home from college for the weekend and I look for something different to make so he has a good home cooked meal. I love to cook and try new recipes.........This dish was awesome. Great flavor. Just a tinge of heat. The boy loved it.......Gave it to my husband a couple days later for his lunch and he said it was even better.... Thanks again for another great main dish. Can't wait to make it again!!! Although I don't like coconut I tried the rice and my husband and son liked it, I did not. So it's me, not the recipe.
