Saw the show this morning and decided to try it for dinner tonight. Followed the recipe EXACTLY and got soggy steak. It wasn't crunchy AT ALL. The flavor from the cumin and cayenne was nice, but didn't make up for the sogginess of the dish.

I added more seasoning than recipe called for and......IT WAS PERFECT!!!!!! I'm always looking for something new to cook for my boyfriend(and he's REALLY picky. Great idea if your potato stash is limited, but if not, definitely serve the gravy over mashed. You find yourself smiling ;- at how delicious it is. Made the gravy a second time made with ground spicy sausage instead then you don't need hardly any seasoning. This is one for my recipe archives.

Prepared this dish for a Sunday meal and it was very good and easy to prepare with least amount of ingredients. Instead of diced potato gravy, I did a white gravy with cream of mushroom, chicken broth, onion, garlic, butter for saute. My family raved of the entire meal. Would cook this dish again.
