I loved Sunny's recipe for "Sunny's Easy Baked Beans", ii is a simple recipe with a bite to it for everyone at the table! If you think it is too runny or too hot, then cut back upon the broth and spices. After you make so many changes, it might not be Sunny's recipe any longer! Make it one more time trying to work the recipe correctly---if you are still unable to complete the recipe correctly, then drop out the parts you do not care for! The rest of you just enjoy!!! :-

These were delicious. I loved the spice but it was too much for some of our guests. I didn't have dry mustard so I used a country style mustard and the flavor was good but a bit too tart. I did add a little bit more brown sugar and that clamed it down.

Really good beans. My grocery store doesn't carry sriracha so I used Louisiana Hot Sauce instead. The contrast of sweet and spicy were great. Only 4 stars because the beans were too watery, even with a few extra minutes in the oven. I think I will just use 1 cup of stock next time.

Absolutely loved this recipe. Will make again....plan to do a roux to have a thicker sauce, but all else will remain the same. Loved the sweet/hot spice of the beans and my family LOVED them too. Even our 7 year old granddaughter. Way to go Sunny!!

I saw these on TV and really wanted to try them out. I made a few adjustments. I had dried pinto beans only, so I made this in a pressure cooker (~1 hour 15 min at full pressure. I love spice, so I added 3 serrano peppers along with the sriracha. After tasting it at the end, I probably would add MORE sriracha (told you I like spice : .
I didn't have beef broth, so instead of salt and broth I used chicken boullioun to season it. Yes, it was a little watery, so I just let it simmer 15 min more until it was nice and thick like I wanted it. I also used stevia instead of brown sugar (trying to keep the sugar down, which I added after the beans were done.

Bottom line: It was REALLY GOOD! Thanks!!

These are certainly NOT the best baked beans you will ever eat as advertised on Cooking for Real. I followed the recipe exactly - it was too spicy, too watery and tasted nothing like baked beans. Very disappointed.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the liquid content. I would reduce the beef stock by half next time and yes there will be a next time

I decided to make this recipe for our weekly family dinner after catching the last half of "Real Cooking," during which Sunny promised you will "never eat canned baked beans again after trying this recipe." Not so sure about that. The flavor did not disappoint, but I had to make a number of modifications. Thanks so much to all of you who warned that the recipe made for really runny beans. I drained all 3 cans of beans, cut the stock in half, and put the beans in the slow cooker for 4 hours before finishing them in the oven. This did the trick, but they were still too spicy for half of my family. The recipe could be better written. For example, it never explains what to do with the thyme sprigs. I put them in whole and took them out prior to serving. I also cooked the bacon, threw it in, and left it in.

I love the flavor of these beans. I prepared them exactly as written, but will use about half of the beef stock called for next time as they were more runny that we like. Will definitely make again with this one change.
