This simple and easy dessert is a great way to make something with chocolate differently! I love chocolate and I am always trying to find different ways to use it. It was very easy to make and did not take me long to prepare. It wasn't incredibly sweet, but still sweet enough to satisfy. I will make these again, maybe switch up and try dark chocolate sometime and maybe white chocolate too. I would recommend this sweet little treat to anyone!

I just finished making these and they are REALLY good. A suggestion, use a whisk and briskly combine the butter into the brown sugar thoroughly. When I was using a spoon it just wasn't coming together so I switched to a whisk and it was all good. I took the suggestion to not cook the mixture too far and it came out perfect (I did 3 min instead of 5. Also, after putting the crackers in the oven to bake I had a slight panick attack realizing that I forgot to spray the foil beforehand. I followed the rest of the directions freezing it for 15 min. I just flipped the whole thing over and peeled the foil off in about 5 different sheets...but at least it came off (thank goodness for a LOT of butter ;- I recommend spraying it so it releases better.

Seeing them being made on the TV show... I was drooling!
I made them last night.
Only thing I had a problem with was the chocolate chips. They wouldn't melt enough for me to spread. So, fast thinking I put the whole tray back into the warm oven. Leaving it in there one minute. I took the tray out and the chocolate chips spread like melted butter.
Then I hurried and put toffee chips on top.
They were delicious!!!!!
This is one of my top three candies to make.

The recipe said to boil for 5 mins. I would do all the stove stuff from start to finish 5 mins. My sugar was a little to dark. When it gets to carmel color and is boiling I would take it off. Other than that it was good.

Made these this morning for my book club meeting tomorrow and just let me say they're super easy and delectable. They taste like toffee. I live in a rural area and a trip into town just for ingredients to make a dessert of some type was out of the question. It's almost 100 miles round trip. So....I checked the cupboard and found everything I needed. YAY! Thanks Trisha. I enjoy your show and have even in my later years, come over to Country Music.

Mine came out tasting like toffee and was very sweet. I think if I make it again, I will add a splash of cream to the butter and sugar mixture to get a more caramel taste/texture.

Tried this recipe after watching Trisha make it with her nephew's. It was SO easy to make and SO good!! I used a 1/2 stick of salted butter and 1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter because that's what I had on hand. The extra salt in the butter is not needed... It still came out wonderful! Next time I will try Dark Chocolate Chips... YUM!!! Thank you Trisha for this very simple sweet and salty recipe.

Euuuuu I made a double batch cause she sold it so well on TV - even the 10 and 13 year old boys don't like it - no I didn't burn the sugar - I followed the directions exactly. It's not crack - it's a waste of crackers and chocolate chips.
