I saw this recipe while working out (the irony! I tried it right away and came out exactly the way hers looked. Tasted a lot like a heath bar but better. If you are not into heath, I actually tried it using Peanut Butter Chips (One bag + one stick of butter melted. I did this instead of the brown sugar/butter. It was phenomenal! I prefer with PB but it was a huge hit the original way too!

I made it according to how it was written here.
definitely needs more instructions, lacked timing/temps /etc.
my butter&br sugar never came together in a solid creamy like caramel.
VERY liquid consistency that looked nothing like hers. on
her TV show Trisha & her nephews made this with seeming ease. even the completed end result of mine vs hers is nonsimilar.
I know waiting for sug&butter to amalgamate I let go too long therefore a bit of a burnt flavor.
I'm searching for a similar recipe to make the same thing but one "with" actual instruction.
I'd never give "this" 'effort of mine' as a gift.

This recipe really is dangerous: That is why I only make it at the holidays. I prefer it with milk chocolate and topped with sliced almonds. People just love it!

These are easy and very good. I think next time I am gonna try it without the chocolate, for a not so rich snack.

I've been making these for years...my recipe is called "Disappearing Crunch Bars". They are so delicious and addicting. My recipe is very exacting about times, though...."boil the brown sugar mixture for exactly 3 minutes", and "Bake exactly 7 minutes" LOL.....in any case my family loves them and Trisha's recipe is the same as mine except for the timing.

excellent!!!! I used Hersheys chocolate bars that were on sale from Christmas, smashed them up and then poured them on. I prefer milk chocolate over semi sweet. very fast too

My sister-in-law, Gail from Fayetteville, Georgia, made this delicious candy/treat when we went to have Christmas with them at their home. I was obsessed with how wonderful and awesome it tasted. She knows I love sweets and it was one of my favorite things about this Christmas. When Trisha and her nephews made it today, my friends immediately put the ingrediants on a list to buy so we could make it tomorrow. Thank you Trisha and we love your show. Garth is a lucky man to have such a great cook in his life. Thanks again, debi from Americus, Georgia
