My husband LOVES IT!! Ever since I began making this recipe, no other fudge we buy can compare! It makes an excellent gift, too! Can't wait to give some away this upcoming holiday. PAULA, YOU ARE AWESOME!!

Run, don't walk to the stove to make this one. I am not a frequent candy maker, but had a taste for fudge and thought I would try it. It was simply simple and I ended up with fudge that tastes just like that heavenly expensive fudge you get in so many resort shops. I think one key was to slowly raise to the boil. I didn't rush it, just slowly moved to the boil and then stirred for five minutes while the mixture darkened. Next time I might double the vanilla, just to add a bit more richness. I love the suggestion to use candy canes and peppermint. Has anyone else added anything to make this extra special?

This is my first attempt at making fudge. I was looking for something easy. I read the reviews before and was aware that some where afraid of scorching. I started out low and slowly increased the heat to get the boil going. Then I boiled for 5 minutes constantly stirring. I used a non stick pot and used a spatula to stir. It felt like my arm was about to fall off. I lowered the heat but kept the boil going. After 5 minutes I mixed in the chocolate. I became concerned because it was getting really hard to stir and it almost looked like it was getting ready to separate. I asked my husband to step in to stir because it was hard. I plopped it in the pan and hoped for the best. I refrigerated it. I took it out and it was hard. Still concerned. I let it sit out for about an hour or so and then I sliced into the corner. The knife went through smoothly. I tasted it and it was dreamy! No grittyness just smooth sweet dreams!

Ok...seriously...I haven't ever left a review before, and I usually love watching Paula make her devilishly decadent desserts, but never make them because just watching makes me feel like I gained 25 lbs!lol I decided, however, to try this one out...GOD BLESS The Bald Man!! My word, this is the most heavenly BAAAD thing I have ever tasted! I am severely allergic to nuts ( total bummer and it just happened!:( so, as if if weren't rich enough, I subtracted the nuts, and garnished the top with caramel Hershey's Kisses and buzzed up some cinnamon/vanilla whipped cream...for good measure! I'm going into the City tomorrow and you better believe his fantasy candy land is at the top of my list of places to drop into!! Try this one out, you WON'T regret it!

Honestly, this should be called "OMG, This is SO good" fudge! Our family of 4 has completely different tastes and likes when it comes to chocolate and this is a recipe that even our "non-chocolate" eater LOVES and asks for!

We let ours sit in the fridge overnight before taking it out and cutting - solves the problem of it being too soft. Also, we omit the nuts and thow in small marshmellows at the very last moment before chilling.

    Pure YUM.

Everyone loved this fudge! I was concerned at first about using this recipe since a lot people had problems with the ingredients scorching, but I cooked the ingredients using a double broiler and had no problems. I used large marshmallows instead of the marshmallow cream since I didn't have any. I also used only one cup of sugar instead of a cup and a half since I do not like overly sweet desserts.
