We did not like the brownie portion. We will keep the caramel cashew topping but use my favorite brownie recipe.

My husband who is a brownie connoisseur said that these brownies are "Bill Gates Rich" and that they were too rich for his blood. Up until this moment I never thought he would say that about anything sweet. And make sure you buy an extra gallon of milk. Great recipe, but definately for special occasions ie, 5Oth wedding anniversary when you can afford to pull out all the bells and whistles and you are fine with risking going into a diabetic coma. By the way, these were excellent. I am fealing a little faint...........

I agree that this is a tasty brownie, but the cost of making them, the messiness of the presentation, and the richness makes them a little impractical to make very often. They were a little too chocolatey for my taste, so you really have to like a strong chocolate flavor to enjoy more than a bite or two. While they might be nice to make for the holidays when we all enjoy sugar-overload, I have other recipes that I prefer.

So really, these are super fantastic, rich and fudgey and caramelly. All you need is a tiny piece. Typically I'm a brownie purist, I don't want ANYTHING on my brownie, but come on now, cashews and caramel? Um, yeah, I'll have some of that! I had a hard time finding raw cashews at the local supermarket. My local goldmine for alot of hard to find ingredients is an Indo/Pak grocer. Wondering if it would be good with roasted and salted cashews, I do think they get a little lost in there.

I made this for a bake sale and the buyer called that night for the recipe. She told me it was "wicked!!"

I made these brownies for a super bowl party, and while they were a big hit, I made a few discoveries as the party went on. First of all, these brownies MUST be cut while cold, otherwise they're impossible to cut. Second, it's useful to put them into cupcake wrappers to minimize the goo flow. Third, if you leave these on a plate and they warm to room temperature they will be too gooey to eat. They were very tasty, but I'm not sure that I'd make them again because they're just unreasonably messy.
