I made this tonight after watching the show this morning. I didn't think the shredded hashbrowns sounded good at all so I cut up potatoes instead. I prefer the chunkier pieces. I invited my daughter over to help cook and eat it. Should hates cabbage and sour kraut. She really liked it and was very surprised. We wanted it a bit more meaty since we were having it as our main course so added more meat. I used chicken and apple sausage and really liked that. Ham didn't sound as good to me. I would make it again.

I saw this on TV today - she adds it at the end of the recipe - very last thing, drained and rinsed... making it tonight - can't wait!

It seems as if you have left out when to add the sauerkraut to this recipe. I am looking forward to trying this soup.
