I was really looking forward to trying this recipe, and was very dissapointed. When she says the syrup is to thicken it and give a little sweetness, she was telling the truth. It was overly sweet. All we could taste was syrup and vinegar, and ended up throwing it out was so bad. Wish I wouldve made the sesame chicken from $10 dinners instead.

Really easy and pretty good but the ketchup was a major part of the flavor and that was not what I wanted.

Ketchup taste overpowered the rest of the sauce. I like ketchup but not in this recipe. I ended up dumping the sauce. Maybe i'll try one more time without ketchup. Also, agree that there's no need to use the flour. it didn't make the chicken crispy. It was like grilled chicken with flour on it. I'd rather use grilled chicken.

Outstanding. No longer need to run out for chinese. This curbs the craving. Very flavorful.

Oven baking the chicken was great and the sauce was spicy! The sauce was so good I would use it even with grilled chicken or pork. Thank you Hungry Girl!

This was surprising easy to make and very tasty! My family really liked it and suggested I keep this recipe! Baking the chicken was a great idea and I thought the flour coating helped the sauce stick to the chicken after baking. Served it with rice and broccoli. I'll make this one again!

This was great! My husband loved it and he typically won't eat anything healthy. He said it was like sesame chicken. I used agave nectar instead of syrup, egg whites instead of egg beaters and quinoa flour instead of wheat flour. I cooked chicken for my husband and halibut for me. It was good with halibut as well. I made jasmine rice to compliment the dish. It was quick as well. It was great. I made a little more sauce since on of the viewers suggested it was dry and not enough to cover the chicken. Thanks for the heads up. This was an excellent dish. I love it! Great recipe Lillian! I'm going to try the egg rolls for Tuesday night dinner.

I always make the recipe exactly as the recipe call for the first time. I am really surprized at the ratings considering the taste was bold and it was my favorite from the episode. Maybe following the recipe before you tweek it would help? I liked this

It was just OK. I used half the amount of cornstarch as suggested in other reviews, which was a good idea - the sauce would've been a paste with all of it. I too agree that the dredging process was a complete waste - it made absolutely no difference at all and I could taste flour in the dish. Definitely doesn't taste like traditional sesame chicken, although I didn't really expect it to. I have much better healthy chinese chicken recipes than this so I won't be making this one again.

I made this recipe after seeing on TV. I didn't use egg substitute - but just a regular egg and then added some panko breadcrumbs to the whole wheat flour. The chicken turned out great. On the sauce I used honey instead of the syrup and doubled the recipe to make sure I had enough. I would suggest using more garlic. It is a very light recipe and I enjoyed it for that reason.
