Although the review below says that the stew is not traditionally Irish, the taste of the dish is so hearty and earthy that it takes you back in time to a more simple and natural way of eating. My family and friends love this dish - and they are some picky eaters!!
I say make this with a side of brown soda bread and you will have a hit!

just to let you know - the sweet potato is about as far away from tradional irish as you could get and a traditional irish stew does not have wild mushrooms in it
