I made this recipe today for lunch, I've been craving dirty rice. This recipe allowed me to use everything i had in my house without having to go to the store. I followed the recipe except for changing a few things. I made Jambalaya about a week ago and I still had creole seasoning that I made from scratch, so instead of using the thyme and cayenne seperate I used the blend I made. I also did not add any of the meats it called for, instead I added ground turkey, about 1 lb. I also did not add the chicken livers and green onions. I followed the timeline exactly, except with the few tweaks I said and it came out fabulous, I couldn't stop eating it!! I like my foood hottttttt, spicy wise, so I spiced it up. Everyone who ate it loved it, I mean it isn't traditional, but hey to everyone likes different things, but I'd say this recipe is perfect!

This recipe was everything I expected it to be. I used chicken livers because my market was out of gizzards, and it was still very good. I will make this again, and again! Give it a try. It is worth a try. I don't think you'll be sorry.
