Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons canned crushed pineapple
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 pound 85 percent-lean ground meat
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and ground black pepper
Directions
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, crushed pineapple, garlic, ginger and egg. Add in the meat, breadcrumbs, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and mix with clean hands until well-blended. Use a tablespoon to scoop out 1-inch balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake until they are browned and cooked through, about 20 minutes. Serve.

For a variation, replace the teriyaki sauce with barbecue sauce. Use 1/3 cup barbecue sauce, and remove the ground ginger and pineapple.
