    My Nana could not eat nut meats so she made this often. She left out the cream cheese part and was still delicious. Chess Pies are not only a Southern Divination.Try this one. You will be pleasently surprised and not as sweet as you might believe.

    Having grown up in the south where the ability to make a good chess pie was seen as a matter of family honor I was extremely disapointed with this pie. Next time I will stick to a tried and true recipe. Don't waste your time with this one.

    Growning up in Southern Indiana chess pie was a staple at family gatherings. This is the closest I've come to what I grew up with. Excellent and easy.
