i tried this and it wasn't anything like what it's supposed to be like. i have a recipe ive used for a long time. i know it works. this is what butter mochi is supposed to taste like. people in hawaii make it something like this...
Ingredients:
3 cups sugar
2 cups milk
1 table spoon vanilla
1 box (16 oz. mochiko
5 eggs
12 oz. can coconut milk
3 tsp. baking powder
1 cup melted butter
Instructions:
mix dry ingredients first. melt butter and set aside. mix wet ingredients. combine wet and dry ingredients and add butter last. hand mix to a smooth texture. bake in greased 9X13 pan at 350 degrees for 45 min or until knife or toothpick comes out clean.

The recipe MUST be incorrect. This was the nastiest soupy mess I have ever made. Never again....The cooking time must be off. All other similar recipes that I've found have a cooking time from 60 to 80 minutes.
