this recipe does cause for a pretty large amount of some of the spices so i did not want to waste it and so I poured the flour mix out as i needed it to dip the soaked pickles in. i used the sandwich stacker pickles which are flat and my family liked these best(we did it both spears and these i also put the flour mixture in a sealed gallon baggy to keep and it makes 3 recipes of this so once u make it u can use again twice later . i just make the wash each time and its easier. so once u make the flour mixture u can just 1/3 of it for each recipe and save the rest for later. they are great pickles.

Iprepared this recipe on last nite. The Deep Fried Pickles were DELISIO!!! I had no problem with the breading. I did bread them first then egg wash and then breading again. They held up wonderfully!! The ranch dreesing made them even better. I did substitute for already prepared Ranch Dressing and add a little chopped garlic and parsley. My husband and family absolutely enjoyed them !!! Great recipe.

I just made this last night, omg they were the best. For the breading problem I first dip the pickles into the breading..then into the egg mix, and then back into the breading. I also pan fried mine since I don't have a deep fryer. My breading stayed on just fine for cooking. I make all my breaded foods like that, I find by putting it into the breading mix first then the eggs, they hold up better.

    Enjoy!!!

I have had fried pickles many times before and this sounded like a winner. Nope. The breading stuck, but it was was gritty. The breading does not fry to a tempura style. The flavor was ok but only masked by plenty of ranch dressing. Skip this and find a tempura style breading, you'll be much happier with the results.

If breading doesn't stick, try first, drying off the spears with absorbent towel immediately before dipping in egg wash.

But worth it! I kept hearing about deep fried pickles and I got my husband to make them for me and they were awesome. My husband doesn't even care for pickles and he enjoyed them! Great with the dressing!

Very simple to make. I had a similar dish at a resturant at Amelia Island in Florida and liked it a lot. I thought these were a little better though

This recipe was easy to make and came out very nicely. They reminded me of the pickles from Razoo's Cajun Restaurant.

These are great. I substituted dill chips for the spears and it was just as good.
