Everyone loves this dish so I make extra batches for all to take home. It's such an easy recipe and brings back wonderful memories for everyone. I keep it special and make only for the holidays.

Karen - No idea what temp to reheat, personally, I HATE reheated sweet potatoes, it's fresh or nothing for me.
Royal - leave as is, if you want to mash them, then look for sweet potato souffle
Regina - You don't boil the potatoes first, you put them in raw with the ingredients.

I also add some orange juice, nutmeg and cinnamon to cook

I made these last night and they were sooo good. My husband finally tried them and liked them. I'm a fairly newly-wed and when I suggested bringing sweet potatoes to his family's dinner, it did not go smoothly. My husband did not want me to bring them because "his" family doesn't make sweet potatoes. haha.

So for the potatoes, following the recipe they come out great. I did add NUTMEG and CINNAMON. I may have put a little too much nutmeg. For me, all I needed was a pinch. I ended up putting them in foil dish to transfer. There is a lot of liquid left over, but I'm thinking it's good to keep it so they have something to bathe in. :

I'M WONDERING THOUGH, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WHAT TEMPERATURE I SHOULD HEAT THESE BACK UP AT IN THE OVEN?? I'M NOT QUITE SURE. Also, should I have used a glass pan?

I made this recipe last year, but I substituted real maple syrup for the sugar since I had a lot of it. I probably only used about a half cup of syrup. Like others I also added cinnamon & nutmeg to taste. The Vietnamese Cassia cinnamon from Penzey's is THE BEST! I used to dislike sweet potatoes until I tried this recipe. Now I cannot get enough of them! Try this recipe ~ you will not be disappointed!

I just finished making this recipe for tomorrow's dinner. I plan to reheat them in the crock pot over a few hours. I did add cinnamon and nutmeg. I was going to double the recipe by making it twice. But, after the first batch of sweets were done there was still a ton of liquid left so I just added another 3 pounds of potato to the remaining sauce. So tasty! Not sure how I'm going to keep from eating them tonight.

MY MOTHER HAS BEEN MAKING THIS EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS FOR THANKSGIVING. WITH ONLY ONE ADDITIVE. AFTER PREPPING IN A GLASS PAN SHE TOPS IT OFF WITH MARSHMELLOWS FOR THAT EXTRA SWEET TASTE, BUT NOT TOO SWEET. INSTEAD OF A CROCK POT OVER MEDIUM HEAT WE PUT IT IN THE OVEN. TEN TIMES BETTER GAURANTEED. ENJOY! I WILL!!
